Adam Cox 'honoured to represent Scotland' at Commonwealth Games

Adam Cox says that representing Scotland at the Commonwealth Games is a "huge honour", and has eyed a medal in the artistic gymnastics.

Adam Cox believes that Scotland can win gold in the artistic gymnastics event at the Commonwealth Games.

The 27-year-old retired from the sport ahead of Delhi 2010, but he made a return after deciding that the prospect of the Games on his home turf was too much to turn down.

"I already feel I have something to show for the sacrifices," Cox told the Evening Express. "To represent my country in a home Games is a huge honour.

"But I believe this team can really push a good quarter of those [artistic gymnastics] medals and maybe even a third. I think as a team we will be pushing for a gold medal."

Cox won bronze in the event at the 2006 Commonwealths.
