The Delhi 2010 bronze medallists led 2-0 at the National Hockey Centre, but India battled back to win the semi-final encounter and book their place in tomorrow's final, where they will meet reigning world champions Australia.

Goals from Rupinder Singh and Ramandeep Singh cancelled out New Zealand's early two-goal lead, before Akashdeep Singh won the game for the eight-time Olympic champions.

England had earlier lost 4-1 against Australia to end their hopes of winning gold.
