The United States have thrashed Switzerland 9-0 in their second game in Group A of the women's ice hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics and sit comfortably top of the standings.
Switzerland kept things close for almost 10 minutes, but once USA got ahead, they did not look back. Their first goal came just after nine minutes through Monique Lamoureux, before two more followed inside a minute.
Brianna Decker and Amanda Kessel made it 3-0, before Hilary Knight and Kessel again put the Americans 5-0 up by the end of the first period.
The Swiss started to give away a number of penalties, although they conceded just one more goal in the second period, with Lamoureux making it a brace for herself.
Kendall Coyne got in on the action with two quick strikes early in the final period, and the scoring was complete through Alex Carpenter five minutes from time.
