Scotland's Euan Burton has secured the Commonwealth Games gold medal in the men's judo -100kg competition after beating Shah Hussain Shah of Pakistan in the final.

The 35-year-old Scottish flag-bearer, who suffered a second-round exit at the London Olympics in 2012, ended the bout by throwing Shah before holding him down to submission and winning the fight, much to the adulation of the SEEC crowd.
Burton, who has previously won two middleweight world championship bronze medals, had come out of retirement when he was given the opportunity to fight for Scotland in Glasgow.
Earlier on, New Zealand's Tim Slyfield won bronze with an ippon tai-otoshi throw on Indian Sahil Apathania, before compatriot Jason Koster edged out Duke Didier of Australia on penalties.
