Team GB's Chamberlain: "I let everybody down"

Great Britain judoka Frazer Chamberlain has admitted that he feels as though he has "let everybody down" following his first-round exit in the men's -90kg category.

The 23-year-old suffered defeat against Switzerland's Domenic Wenzinger to see his European Games adventure come to an abrupt end at the first hurdle on Saturday morning.

Chamberlain, a two-time European Cup medallist, now intends to return "stronger" in an attempt to put his Baku disappointment behind him in future events.

"It was an amazing fight and an amazing experience and I'm gutted that I let everybody down," he told reporters. "But there's not much you can do.

"I just need to get back to the drawing board and work with my coach to get stronger and better, come back and do the job properly next time."

Team GB's hopes of claiming a medal in judo lie solely on Natalie Powell, who faces Anamari Klementina Velensek in the women's -78kg bronze A final this afternoon.
