Team GB's Nekoda Smythe-Davis eliminated in first round

Commonwealth Games champion Nekoda Smythe-Davis is knocked out in the first round of the women's -57kg judo event by Russia's Irina Zabludina.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nekoda Smythe-Davis has lost in the opening round of the women's -57kg judo competition at the European Games in Baku.

The 22-year-old was beaten by Russia's Irina Zabludina after being held for a waza-ari less than four minutes into the contest.

The Great Britain judoka had already been trailing after Zabludina picked up an early yuko.

The Russian will face France's Automne Pavia in the round of 16 later this morning.
