AFC Wimbledon announce sponsorship deal with award-winning author John Green

AFC Wimbledon announce a new sponsorship deal with award-winning author and YouTube figure John Green.

AFC Wimbledon have announced that they have secured a sponsorship deal with award-winning author John Green.

The 36-year-old, who is a supporter of the League Two outfit, has gained widespread credit for his fiction writing, including the Printz award in 2006 for debut novel 'Looking for Alaska'.

Green, who has described AFC Wimbledon as the "best football team in the world", is also known for creating a YouTube channel with his brother Hank in 2007 called vlogbrothers.

"AFC Wimbledon is a truly extraordinary football club," Green told the club's official website. "Basically they're the best football team in the world and I want to help them stay in the football league."

Commercial director Ivor Heller added: "This has been one of the most exciting and unique sponsorship deals that I have been involved with.

"John's knowledge of the club is astounding and goes to show what a global reach AFC Wimbledon has. We look forward to working with John on many projects in the future."

Green also topped a New York Times Bestseller list with 'The Fault in Our Stars' two years ago.
