Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista has suffered numerous online abuse following rumours that he caused Jack Wilshere's latest injury.
Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed today that the England international will be sidelined for a "few weeks" after suffering a hairline fracture of his left fibula.
Following the news, some angry Arsenal supporters targeted Gabriel, with one Twitter user writing: "Thank you for ending my boy's career and ruining my title dream. I swear to God if I see you I'll kill you. Believe that @gpaulista5."
According to the Daily Star, one Arsenal fan tweeted, "@gpaulista5 LEAVE MY CLUB YOU UGLY P****," while another posted: "WTF Gabriel you reckless c*** go back to brazil no wonder you're the squad loner. p****."
Wilshere has struggled with leg and ankle problems since 2010.
