Former Australian kayaking world champion Nathan Baggaley has pleaded guilty to two drug manufacturing charges in a Sydney court.

The 39-year-old, who was arrested by the Australian Federal Police in November 2013, admitted conspiracy to manufacture and manufacturing a marketable amount of methamphetamine.

According to BBC Sport, seven remaining charges relating to the manufacture, importation and supply of drugs were dropped after he pleaded guilty to the offences mentioned.

Baggaley, who was suspended by the International Canoe Federation after testing positive for a steroid in 2005, was accused of being involved in a group who set up drug laboratories in New South Wales and Queensland.

The kayaker, who has two Olympic silver medals to his name, will be sentenced on March 13.
