Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is father to two sons after his partner Shakira gave birth on Thursday.

The couple, who are already parents to two-year-old Milan, reportedly welcomed their new baby boy's arrival by caesarean at a hospital in Barcelona.

Pique and the Colombian popstar are yet to reveal the baby's name, but the footballer's grandfather Amador Bernabeu appears to have let it slip.

"He's called Sasha, which is Alexander in Russian," Hello! magazine quotes Amador as saying. "They've told me he looks like Gerard. Milan looked like Shakira when he was born but this one looks more like his father."

Pique and Shakira have been in a relationship since 2010.
