Celtic issue letter urging 'smelly' supporters to turn up clean to matches

Celtic issue a letter to a section of fans reminding them to be clean after the club received complaints about a smelly supporter.

Celtic officials have reportedly sent a letter to a section of season-ticket holders reminding them that they need to turn up to matches clean after complaints about a smelly supporter were made.

The Scottish club's liaison officer John Paul Taylor wrote the letter after he learned that some fans were concerned about the pong.

According to the Daily Record, in the letter, it was claimed that the smell has been "impacting on the experience" of the match.

After there were suggestions that the letter was a hoax, Taylor tweeted: "I can exclusively reveal its genuine, dispatched at the request of incumbents within the locale."

Meanwhile, Celtic are preparing for Thursday's Europa League group match against Ajax.
