A survey reveals that Luis Suarez would be welcomed into the national team by England fans.

A survey has revealed that the majority of England fans would welcome Luis Suarez into the national team.

Out of all the non-English Premier League players on offer, the Liverpool striker earned 34% of the vote from Three Lions followers taking part in the survey by ESPNFC.

Manchester United's Robin van Persie and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure came joint-second in the list with 15% of the vote.

In terms of the current crop of England players, the survey discovered that most fans would place both Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in midfield, despite ongoing questions over whether the pair can play alongside one another.

Gary Cahill was the most voted-for player overall by featuring in 79% of fans' starting XI, while manager Roy Hodgson was backed by 55% of the supporters taking part in the survey.

England will begin their World Cup campaign in Manaus on Saturday with a Group D clash against Italy.
