Everton are planning to install a new pitch at Goodison Park ahead of new manager Roberto Martinez's first game in charge.
The Merseyside outfit, who appointed Martinez as David Moyes's successor, are keen to improve the quality of the surface to help adapt to the Spaniard's attacking style of play.
"What we are doing this year is a full renovation of the pitch, which includes a new system called Desso Grassmaster," head Goodison groundsman Bob Lennon told the Evertonian magazine. "It's the same as Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wembley use."
The system has also been used in World Cup and Champions League finals.
