Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has revealed that he recently moved to Manchester because he could not handle the attention that he received from the women on Merseyside.
His change of address had resulted in speculation linking him with a transfer to either of the Manchester clubs.
However, the Belgium international has now confessed that his popularity among the female population in Liverpool was the major reason behind his decision.
"I am living in Manchester now, because in Liverpool, the women were crawling for me," Fellaini said. "It was too much. In Manchester, people don't recognise me that much and tend to treat me in a more respectful way. I don't want to be a star. I just want to play football."
The 25-year-old signed for Everton in 2008 from Standard Liege.
