Sky announces televised Championship fixtures

The fixture between Sunderland and Leeds United is the standout game as Sky Sports announces the latest Championship matches to be televised at the start of the season.

Sky Sports has announced that the match between Sunderland and Leeds United features among the fixtures to be televised during the opening five weeks of the season.

It had already been revealed which matches would take place on the first weekend of the new campaign, but Sky has now confirmed which other games have been moved up until September 9.

Middlesbrough will host Sheffield United in the 5.30pm kickoff on Saturday, August 12, with the following weekend kicking off with the encounter between Burton Albion and Birmingham City on Friday, August 18.

The following evening, Sunderland host Leeds in a highly-anticipated contest at the Stadium of Light, before the final televised action of the month sees Bristol City play Aston Villa on Friday, August 25.

After the international break, the iPro Stadium will stage the match between Derby County and Hull City on Friday, September 8, before Hillsborough is the setting for the clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.
