A Leicester City supporter has been given a four-month prison sentence after assaulting three Nottingham Forest players during an FA Cup tie.

During the first half of the game at the City Ground on February 6, Cameron Toner ran onto the pitch and assaulted Djed Spence, Brennan Johnson and Keinan Davis.

At the conclusion of the East Midlands derby, Foxes swiftly handed a lifetime ban to the 19-year-old, who was put on conditional bail.

On Thursday, Toner was also handed a four-month jail term, with it being revealed that he had taken cocaine two nights before the game and drank heavily in the hours before the 4pm kickoff on the Sunday.

Speaking at Nottingham Magistrates Court, Toner said: "I was under the influence of alcohol, having started drinking at 11am. I was not myself.

"I wish to apologise to Nottingham Forest, their players and supporters. I also wish to apologise to my friends, my family and all those connected with Leicester City.

"It was probably the adrenaline that kicked in."

The incident occurred after Forest had scored their third goal before eventually prevailing by a 4-1 scoreline.
