Steven Gerrard's wife has slammed a fellow Twitter user after he criticised her for being absent from Liverpool's final game of the Premier League season.
It is tradition for the players' wives and girlfriends to be present for the last home match of the campaign, but Alex Gerrard and the couple's three daughters appeared to be missing from Anfield from last Sunday's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.
After the match, one user tweeted Gerrard's wife saying: "nice to see you were supporting your husband yesterday after a tough season.all of the other wags were there #lethimdown."
Alex responded by writing: "please do yourself a favour and don't worry about me and my husbands relationship were quite happy, an people like u keep us entertained #keepthemcoming."
After describing the Liverpool-born model as an "idiot", Alex replied: "well stop wasting your time thinking about me and what am doing get your sad little self a life !! #divi."
On Thursday, Alex, who is the mother of daughters Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes, posted a photo of herself with Gerrard, who is having a break from football ahead of England's World Cup campaign next month.
