A Celtic fan was arrested by Manchester police last night for throwing a hamburger at a police horse ahead of his side's Champions League game with Manchester City.
The 27-year-old was reprimanded almost four hours before kickoff in the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, for his drunk and disorderly conduct in Piccadilly Gardens.
A police spokesman confirmed: "At around 4pm on Tuesday 6 December 2016, a 27-year-old man was arrested in Piccadilly Gardens on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
"This was following an incident where a burger was thrown at a police horse taking part in the matchday operation ahead of the Manchester City vs. Celtic match at the Etihad."
Around 14 arrests were made in connection with the game, while police are also investigating reports that a group of Celtic fans let off fireworks on board a crowded tram en route to the match.
