David Moyes 'Chosen One' banner removed from Old Trafford

The 'Chosen One' banner dedicated to David Moyes is reportedly removed from Old Trafford following the Scotsman's departure on Tuesday.

The banner dedicated to David Moyes has been removed from Old Trafford after Manchester United cut ties with the coach on Tuesday.

The 'Chosen One' banner, which was in reference to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson's role in getting the Scotsman the job, has been taken down from the Stretford End.

The Stretford End Flags group, who paid for the banner to be installed, are planning to replace it with a mural to United legend and current director Sir Bobby Charlton.

Co-founder of the group Andrew Kilduff told the Manchester Evening News: "It's something we're going to think about carefully. We may offer to the National Football Museum or auction it off for charity."

United sacked Moyes less than 10 months into the role after the team suffered 15 defeats in all competitions under his leadership.
