Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says that James Bond actor Daniel Craig would not accept free tickets to watch the Red Devils due to his allegiance to Liverpool.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that James Bond actor Daniel Craig refused to take free tickets to see a Manchester United game.

The 44-year-old, who was born in Cheshire, is a well-known Liverpool fan and according to the actor's mum, Craig would have no intention of going to watch the Reds' fiercest rivals.

"I know Daniel Craig," The Sun quotes Ferguson as saying. "The only thing about Daniel Craig is he's a Liverpool fan. His mother was on the same plane as me when I went to New York in September.

"I said to her, 'There's a ticket for Daniel at Old Trafford any time.' She looked at me as if I had horns on my head! She replied, 'I don't think Daniel will want to go and see United.'"

Craig is currently starring in the new James Bond flick Skyfall.
