Ex-Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson 'mobbed by fans in New York City'

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly relaxes in New York while his old charges lose to Olympiacos in the Champions League.

While Manchester United lost to a Greek opponent for the first time in their history, former manager Sir Alex Ferguson was relaxing in New York City.

The Scotsman, who retired from management last summer, was not in attendance to witness the Red Devils succumb to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Olympiacos in the first round of their last-16 Champions League tie.

Instead, the Scotsman was happily posing for photographs with fans in the streets of the Big Apple, according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, United have been forced to deny reports that manager David Moyes has been sacked following Tuesday night's result.
