Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has denied a public order offence in relation to an alleged row with a taxi driver.
The 43-year-old has been accused of causing harassment, alarm or distress to driver Fateh Kerar near traffic lights in Ashley Road, Altrincham on January 30.
The former Aston Villa assistant boss, who works as a coach for the Republic of Ireland national team, was reported to have confronted the cabbie and launched a foul-mouthed rant.
According to PA, a plea of not guilty was entered by Keane's lawyer as the retired footballer was not present for the hearing at Trafford Magistrates' Court this morning.
The court heard that two witnesses, who are expected to be Mr Kerar and a taxi passenger, will be called to the stand by the prosecution, while the defence will call Keane and another witness.
The Irishman will face trial at Manchester Magistrates' Court on June 19.
