Manchester United spent over £10m on agents' fees over a four-month period this season, it has been revealed.
The Red Devils splashed out more than any other Premier League side during October 1 and February 1 of the current campaign.
This is despite manager Louis van Gaal deciding not to bring in any new faces during the January transfer window, instead opting to stick with what he had available to him.
Second in the list is Liverpool, who spent £3m less than their rivals during the same timeframe, while Manchester City (£5.8m), Arsenal (£3.1m) and West Ham United (£2.6m) complete the top five.
Current league leaders Leicester City paid just £936,000 - the fourth lowest in the top flight and some £9m less than fifth-placed Man United.
The figures mentioned also include staged payments on previous transfers and contract negotiations, such as the new-and-improved deal offered to David de Gea earlier this season.
