Wayne Rooney slams "disgusting" photographers

Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney has slammed the "disgusting" press after he was followed on a family holiday to Portugal.

Rooney was photographed enjoying a post-season break with his four-year-old son Kai this weekend, and the England international pulled no punches in his assessment of the media attention.

He wrote on Twitter: "Disgusting that English press have flew [sic] out to Portugal to follow me while I'm with my children."

The 28-year-old will team up with his Three Lions teammates at the Algarve on Monday to begin preparations for next month's World Cup in Brazil.
