Rooney's wife launches 'Football Mum of the Year'

The wife of Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has launched McDonald's 'Football Mum of the Year' award in an attempt to recognise those helping their children to achieve sporting dreams.

Coleen Rooney, who married the England skipper in 2008, is a mother to two young boys of her own - Kai, five, and one-year-old Klay.

This week, the Liverpudlian, who has her own clothing line with Littlewoods, took part in the initiative's launch by helping a group of young boys and girls with heading practice.

According to the Daily Mail, Coleen will present a special prize to the woman deemed 'Football Mum of the Year' at Wembley Stadium in London on August 2.

Coleen and Rooney first met when the pair were schoolchildren.
