West Bromwich Albion's special edition match programme for Sir Alex Ferguson's final game in charge of Manchester United reaches record sales.

West Bromwich Albion's special edition match programme for Sir Alex Ferguson's final game in charge of Manchester United has become the club's bestseller.

The Premier League outfit, who secured a 5-5 draw with United on the last day of the campaign, created a commemorative programme to pay tribute to Ferguson, who has retired after 26 years in charge.

The club usually sell around 9,000 copies of their books, but the Ferguson piece prompted sales of almost 35,000.

"It has proved our bestselling programme of modern times, with sales approaching 35,000 copies," the Express & Star quotes Albion spokesman John Simpson as saying.

"We sold out around an hour before kickoff on the day of the game and the subsequent reprint has also sold out."

The Baggies' special edition programme was sold at an increased price of £4 for the match.
