Gough wins appeal against ex-girlfriend assault

Former Wales rugby international Ian Gough has been cleared of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Sophia Cahill after winning his appeal at Croydon Crown Court.

In July last year at Croydon Magistrates' Court, the Newport Gwent Dragons lock was <a href="/off-the-pitch/wales/news/rugby-player-guilty-of-assaulting-ex-girlfriend_168211.html">found guilty</a> of grabbing and pushing Cahill at her home during an incident on January 5, 2014.

Gough was ordered to pay £2,130 in fines and costs but decided . . .
