Ex-Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu denies rumours he was denied visa for being drunk

Adrian Mutu rejects reports that he was denied a visa because he was drunk ahead of his move to the Indian Super League.

Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has rubbished media reports that he was denied a visa because he was drunk while applying for one.

The 35-year-old's move to the newly-formed Indian Super League was reportedly delayed due to immigration issues.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Mutu turned up drunk to the Indian embassy in Bucharest when applying for a visa.

However, the footballer has hit back at these claims by tweeting a photo of his visa with the message: "I do not understand !! As a newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport write a little lie like that without verifying the information."
