Andy Murray admits to being 'stalked' by hotel maid

Tennis star Andy Murray reveals that he was once stalked by a hotel maid, whom he claimed stroked his arm while he was sleeping.

World number two Andy Murray has revealed that he was stalked by a hotel maid on the tennis circuit.

The three-time Grand Slam winner has explained how he once woke up in his hotel bed at 7am to a woman stroking his arm.

The Scotsman - a married father of one - claimed that he put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on his door before going to sleep, but the woman, whom he later spotted again at other hotels, still entered the room.

"At one of the tournaments that I played, there was a maid in the hotel," Murray told the International Premier League Tennis. "I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign up on the door and she came in and sat on my bed and started stroking my arm at about seven in the morning when I was still sleeping.

"She then turned up at a couple more tournaments in the hotels that I was playing at in Rotterdam and Barcelona. I don't know if that is a fan thing but that was a bit extreme."

Meanwhile, on the court, Murray progressed into the second round of the China Open on Tuesday with a straight-sets win over Andreas Seppi.
