Former Wimbledon striker John Fashanu has reportedly been questioned by police after an unlicensed gun was found at his home in Nigeria.
The 52-year-old's luxurious property in Abuja is believed to have been raided by 20 police officers on Saturday and the weapon was seized.
According to The Mirror, five passports were also taken from the mansion and Fashanu himself was escorted to the police station for questioning.
"I was not arrested, I went to the police station voluntarily," Fashanu told the newspaper. "I'll go back tomorrow morning to the police station. I expect to pay a fine. It was an old fashioned firearm. I don't actually know what model it is - it's like a stub gun."
Reports have claimed that the gun in question is capable of firing up to 30 rounds.
