The rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves in May has reportedly been declared as the richest fight on British soil ever.
The Wembley bout, which resulted in Froch retaining his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles with an eighth-round knockout, accumulated £22m in total.
According to the Daily Mail, the sum, which included the largest ever purse with Froch being paid £8m and Groves £2m, is the biggest figure to come out of a fight on British shores.
The crowd of 77,000 also surpassed the previous British record of just over 70,000, who turned out in 1933 to watch Jack Petersen beat Jack Doyle in White City.
