Lewis Hamilton joins mourners at Jules Bianchi's funeral in Nice

Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton joins mourners at the funeral of Jules Bianchi in Nice, France.

Formula 1 reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was one of many mourners that paid their respects at the funeral of Jules Bianchi in Nice, France on Tuesday.

The F1 driver was laid to rest in his hometown after he passed away last week as a result of severe head injuries suffered in a crash last October.

The 25-year-old spent nine months in hospital after his Marussia collided with a recovery vehicle during the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

Today, Bianchi's family and members from the Formula 1 world turned out to say their final farewells to Bianchi during a service at the Sainte Reparate Cathedral.

On Monday, the late sportsman's family invited members of the public to pay their respects at the funeral.

Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa and Romain Grosjean were among the F1 drivers to attend.
