Anne Keothavong looking forward to 'exciting challenge' at BT Sport

Anne Keothavong says that she is 'excited' to begin her new role with BT Sport following her decision to retire from tennis.

Former British number one tennis player Anne Keothavong believes that an 'exciting challenge' awaits her when she takes on her new role with BT Sport.

The 29-year-old announced her decision to retire from the sport following a 12-year spell as a professional.

"I am now focusing on my exciting new challenge with BT Sport where I hope I can provide insight and analysis for tennis fans," said Keothavong.

Director of BT Sport Simon Green added: "We are particularly pleased to have signed up Anne for our tennis team. She's straight off the court and I am sure that will give her fantastic insight into the mentality and performance of her fellow professionals on the tour.

"Anne has been at the forefront of women's tennis in the UK for years and can give the viewers the benefit of her experience and knowledge of both her fellow British stars, like Heather Watson and Laura Robson, as well as the current top-ranking players."

Keothavong will cover the 21 WTA tournaments and five Premier WTA competitions for the channel alongside Sam Smith and Martina Navratilova.
