Victoria Pendleton's dance partner will abandon her for pregnant wife

Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton could lose her Strictly Come Dancing partner Brendan Cole at the last minute due to the impending birth of his first child.

The professional dancer has claimed that he will have to abandon the Olympic gold medallist if his wife goes into labour.

"My wife has not got long to go before the baby is due and if it does I will be by my wife's side," The Sun quotes Cole as saying.

Pendleton added: "I wouldn't expect Brendan to be in any other place."

The 32-year-old managed to survive the axe from the BBC One show last weekend following her performance at Wembley.
