Former prostitute Helen Wood, who is alleged to have once slept with married Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, has given her thoughts on the controversy surrounding convicted rapist Ched Evans.
The ex-Sheffield United footballer has failed to find a new club since his October release from prison after he served half of a five-year sentence for raping a 19-year-old woman.
The 26-year-old has maintained his innocence, and Wood, who won Celebrity Big Brother last year, believes that the Welshman has a case.
"If he did do it, fine, he deserves everything he gets, but we can't deny the story flaws," Wood wrote in the Daily Star. "How do you not remember consenting to him yet remember consenting to go back and have sex with one of them [Clayton McDonald]? She didn't go back to see their fucking pet hamster."
Evans was close to signing for League One side Oldham Athletic, but last week, the club pulled out of the deal after board members and their families received "vile" threats.
