TV chef Rosemary Shrager sparks a race row by referring to British boxer David Haye as a "monkey".

British boxer David Haye has been placed at the centre of a race row after TV chef Rosemary Shrager referred to the former WBA heavyweight champion as a "monkey".

Shrager, who was voted off ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, where she met Haye, used the term during an interview with ITV2.

"I have to just say this live on television, David is such a hunk!" said Haye. "I'm a middle-aged lady, and I saw him coming through the jungle, like this monkey! But lovely, you know, he looked so fit, and I thought, this is terrific."

Haye remains in the Australian jungle as one of the final three left in the competition.
