At least a quarter of Newcastle United's 4,200 travelling supporters are said to have missed kickoff during last night's League Cup quarter-final tie against Tottenham Hotspur due to problems with turnstiles in the away section.
Many took to social media site Twitter to air their grievances, claiming that poor stewarding caused the severe delay at White Hart Lane.

The Daily Mail reports that a large section of fans finally made it to their seats around 20 minutes into the game, by which time Spurs had taken a one-goal lead.
Newcastle went on to lose the game 4-0 to compound supporters' misery.
