Ossie Ardiles transferred to Buenos Aires hospital

Ossie Ardiles will undergo further tests at a hospital in Buenos Aires after being involved in a car accident earlier this week.

Former Tottenham Hotspur star Ossie Ardiles has been transferred to a hospital in Buenos Aires for further tests after being involved in a car crash.

The ex-Argentina international required 20 stitches in his head following the accident on the Falkland Islands, and has been moved to his home country's capital as a precaution.

"I can confirm that Carlos Marcellan and Ossie Ardiles were last night transferred to Buenos Aires for further investigations. We hope they both have a speedy recovery," BBC Sport quotes a spokesperson for the Falkland Islands government as saying.

Ardiles, who was filming a documentary when the incident took place, was initially treated at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on the Falkland Islands, along with six other passengers.
