The arrival of Jermain Defoe has increased the season ticket sales of MLS side Toronto by 95%.
The Canadian outfit sealed the signing of Defoe, who was unveiled to the media alongside USA international Michael Bradley, last Friday.
Now it has been claimed by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment spokesman Dave Haggith that ticket sales for the upcoming season have risen from 15% to 95% following the capture of the striker.
"This past week was that renewal period," Haggith told the Toronto Star. "As of today, our ticket office reported they were at 92% sold for season seats."
Defoe will join up with the MLS club from Tottenham Hotspur on February 28.
