Premier League betting markets

There are a variety of betting markets available to Premier League bettors. In fact, there are hundreds, and there really has never been more choice afforded to those looking to bet on the Premier League.

If you are new to Premier League betting, here are some of the most popular or more common betting markets:

⚽ Match Result

The most common and most simple of all Premier League betting markets is the match result market. Betting on a team to win means that they need to win the game at full time. For example, if you bet on Brighton to win, they can’t lose or draw at the final whistle.

➖➕ Handicap

With handicap betting things are a little more complicated. There are different types of handicap bets. Commonly you may bet on a team ‘-1 Handicap’, which means that the team needs to win by two or more goals, thus covering the handicap.

Reversely, you may bet on a team ‘+1 Handicap’, which means that for betting purposes, the team essentially starts with a goal advantage, meaning that they only need to draw for your bet to win.

🔄 Both Teams to Score

Much more simply, betting on both teams to score markets involves betting whether or not both teams will score in the match. You can bet on either both teams to score, or both teams not to score.

For example, if you bet on both teams to score in Manchester City vs Brentford, both teams need to score at least one goal for your bet to win. If only one team scores, or neither score, you lose the bet. Similarly, if you bet on both teams not to score, at least one of them must fail to score for you to win.

🎯 Over/Under 2.5 Goals

Betting on over or under a certain number of goals, for example 2.5, involves betting on whether there will or won’t be more or less goals. For example, if you bet on over 2.5 goals, the game needs to contain at least three goals for you to win. Likewise, if you bet on under 2.5 goals, the game needs to finish with two or fewer goals for you to win.

🥇 First goalscorer

Does what it says on the tin. Betting on the first goalscorer simply means to bet on which player will score the first goal of the match. For example, if you bet on Erling Haaland to be the first goalscorer, he needs to not only score, but be the first goal of the game.

🕒 Anytime goalscorer

Much like the market directly above, betting on an anytime goalscorer is relatively self-explanatory. This market involves betting on a player to simply score a goal at any time during the match. It doesn’t matter when the goal is scored, or whether it’s the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh or last goal. As long as the player you bet on as an anytime scorer scores during the match, you’ll win. .

Premier League outright betting

Premier League outright betting is also popular. Outright bets are more long-term as they involve betting on the outcome of the season in general as opposed to a single match. For example, a popular form of Premier League outright betting involves betting on a team to win the Premier League.

Here’s a rundown of a few other popular Premier League outright markets:

  • 🏆 To Win the Premier League
  • 🥇 Top 4 Finish
  • 🏅 Top 6 Finish
  • 🔝 To Finish in the Top Half
  • ⬇️ To Finish in the Bottom Half
  • ❌ To be Relegated
  • ⚽ Premier League Top Scorer

How to bet on the Premier League

Popular Betting Markets For All EPL Teams

The Premier League betting markets this season are buzzing, offering punters a smorgasbord of odds on everything from title chases to relegation scraps. With Manchester City leading the outright market as the team to beat, Arsenal and Liverpool are drawing plenty of attention from bettors hoping for a shake-up at the top. Relegation odds are just as active, with newcomers Ipswich and Leicester among the most likely to face the drop. For top-four finish bets, mid-tier contenders like Aston Villa and Tottenham are appealing options after strong recent form.

Player specials are particularly tempting, with competitive odds on the Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year, as well as the manager sack race in a season ripe with pressure at the dugouts. Whether you’re backing heavyweights or eyeing the odds on dark horses and surprise relegation battles, there’s value to be found across the board. Whatever your fancy, the markets are wide open, catering to all levels of risk for the shrewd bettor.

🔫 Arsenal

Although Arsenal started the season as one of the favourites for the EPL, they've since slipped to 14/5 on the outright markets behind Man City and Liverpool. If you fancy The Gunners to capitulate, you can find odds of 2000/1 for them to get relegated. Their homegrown star, Bukayo Saka, is 10/1 to win the PFA Player Of The Year award.

🟣 Aston Villa

Villa are flying high in the Champions League, and after a phenomenal top 4 finish last year, you can get odds of 3/1 for them to repeat this feat, or 66/1 to win the EPL if you're looking for a big outsider. Their main man up top, Ollie Watkins, is 40/1 to win the Golden Boot.

🍒 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are at long odds of 20/1 to go down this year – a welcome site for their fans, no doubt. You can find better odds of 11/1 if you fancy them to finish in the top six.

🐝 Brentford

It'd be a surprise to see Brentford get pulled into the relegation battle this year alongside the likes of Everton and Wolves, but if you think they could slide into it, they're around 12/1 to go down.

🦅 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton are going about their business as usual and once again proving they're a team that deserves to be challenging for the top six. The Seagulls are 9/4 to finish in the European qualification spots, and if you think Danny Welbeck can continue his form, which has seen him score six goals in his first nine games, he is 66/1 to win the Golden Boot.

🦁 Chelsea

Cole Palmer is Chelsea's revelation, and he's starting this season off in the same vein in which he finished the last so impressively. He's 11/4 to land the Golden Boot, which he narrowly missed out on last year. If you think Chelsea could upset the apple cart this year, you can get 20/1 on them lifting the EPL.

🏰 Crystal Palace

Fancy Palace to finish in the top half? You can get 5/1 for them to end up there. Oliver Glasner is 8/1 as the next manager to leave his post if you think fortunes could turn sour at Selhurst Park.

🧱 Everton

After their predictable poor start to the season, Sean Dyche's men have pieced together a few victories, including away from home against Ipswich Town in a relegation six-pointer. Everton has narrowly avoided the drop twice this decade, with The Toffees fluctuating between 9/4 and 11/4 to be relegated from the top flight for the first time in over 70 years.

🏠 Fulham

Marco Silva is doing a good job at Craven Cottage, and the bookies agree they're 9/4 to finish in the top half this year. They're looking a lot more stable than in previous campaigns.

🐴 Ipswich Town

The main goal for newly promoted teams is to avoid going straight back down. Aside from Southampton, Ipswich are favourites for the drop—currently, they are 1/2 to get relegated.

🦊 Leicester City

Leicester are 33/1 to finish in the top half at the end of this season, although more worryingly for Leicester City fans, they're 5/6 to go down, which is looking the more likely of these two eventualities.

🔥 Liverpool

While all the talk seemed to be about Arsenal and City for the title and that Liverpool would be scraping behind the two in disarray after Jurgen Klopp's shock resignation Arne Slot's men have been quietly going about their business and are 5/2 to win the league, overtaking Arsenal.

⚓️ Manchester City

Overlook City at your peril. Once again, they go into this season as favourites at 5/4 to defend their title, and Erling Haaland an astonishing 1/7 to retain his Golden Boot – it's not even Christmas yet!

👹 Manchester United

United are favourites in an unwanted market at the moment – the next EPL manager to be sacked. As the pressure piles on Erik Ten Hag, he is now 10/11 to be the next EPL manager to lose his job, and Man Utd is 10/1 to finish in the top four.

⚫️⚪️ Newcastle United

Eddie Howe's men looked like they were ready to crash the top 4 a couple of years ago, but they have fallen behind a number of other teams vying for these positions. You can get them at odds of 9/1 to repeat the top 4 finish they landed a couple of years ago. If you're after an outside bet, Isak is 28/1 to win the Golden Boot.

🌳 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest has been this year's surprise package up to now, with New Zealand captain Chris Wood firing on all cylinders up front and a legendary win at Anfield. Chris Wood is 22/1 to win the Golden Boot, with seven goals in his first nine games. They're 12/1 for a top-six finish.

🌊 Southampton

The Saints have found themselves in a relegation dogfight early on—with Russell Martin 13/8 to lose his job and the Saints a worrying 1/6 to go down after winning none of the first nine games.

🐓 Tottenham Hotspur

You can find odds of 9/4 for the Spurs to crack the top four this year—or if you fancy Angeball to go sour, he's 33/1 to be the next manager to leave his post.

⚒️ West Ham United

Julen Lopetegui has had a turbulent time at West Ham, and while their season might have got off to a ropey start, he has steadied the ship somewhat. He's climbed down the odds of the next manager being sacked, currently at 9/1, with the Hammers at 13/8 to finish in the top half.

🐺 Wolverhampton Wanderers

According to the bookies, Gary O'Neil is the second most likely EPL manager to leave his post next. The Wolves manager is around 5/1 to leave the club, and with the team 6/4 to get relegated, the odds are looking increasingly shaky for Wolves fans.

Why bet on the Premier League?

OK, so why bet on the Premier League? Well, it’s a good question, to which there are a few answers. Firstly, if you’re a Premier League fan and enjoy betting, then why not combine your twin passions to enhance the fun?

Secondly, since the Premier League is incredibly popular, it’s the league that offers the most choice betting wise. In other words, visit any of the betting sites featured in this article, and you will find more betting options for the Premier League than for any other football competition.

For me, betting on the Premier League is great, as it’s arguably the easiest league to get bets on. What I mean by this is that bookmakers not only offer more markets, but they’re also happier to take more bets. In contrast, if you’re looking to bet on more niche competitions, you may struggle to find sufficient markets, while if you’re any good, you’re also much more likely to get restricted.

How do we choose the best Premier League betting sites?

When researching football betting sites, we look at some of the key elements that make up the best Premier League betting sites. Take a look at these factors below:

💻 User interface

One of the things we consider is the user interface. This encompasses how easy the website itself is to use: Is it clear, cluttered, and easy on the eye? How easy is the Premier League section to find and use? We want to see Premier League betting sites that are easy to use and error-free.

✅ Legitimacy

Legitimacy is a vital aspect of betting. It is very important to use legitimate and trusted websites. We only recommend Premier League betting sites that hold licences from recognised gambling bodies, for example the UK Gambling Commission. We also recommend sites that have been tried and tested.

⚽ Premier League markets

Another thing we consider is how many markets are available for Premier League bettors to bet on each. Moreover, we want to know whether or not they offer anything unique, anything Premier League-related, that gives the user a reason to choose that particular site over others. In other words, a USP (unique selling point).

📊 Premier League features

This section incorporates all things related to the Premier League, including whether they offer any specific features. For example, do they have Premier League betting tips in a blog? Do they provide detailed and clear stats for Premier League games?

🎁Premier League offers

Linked to the above, we look at whether a Premier League bookie provides specific Premier League promotions, offers or bonuses.

📞 Customer service

As we always say at Sports Mole, customer service is essential. Users need to know that they can be heard if they have a problem. For us to know that this is the case, we need to know that there are adequate customer service channels. Moreover, are these channels available around the clock? For example, we want to see customer services and help options such as live chat, email, phone, and social media, plus a detailed FAQs page. Also, we need to consider wait times and how good and efficient the service is generally.

🏦 Banking options

Variety is key here. Does a Premier League betting site offer many banking options? Not all customers are the same, and many have different banking needs, so we want to see many payment options.

Best Premier League betting sites – a closer look

You’ve noted our best Premier League betting sites listed above. Now let’s look at each one in a little more detail.

Bet365

Starting strong with one of the big boys of online betting, bet365 is a household name and is certainly trustworthy. One of the best Premier League betting sites, bet365 offers users a high-performing, efficient, well-designed, and easy-to-use website, while the mobile app also meets that description.

Finding the Premier League section is easy to do too. Using the left-hand-side menu, select ‘Soccer’, followed by ‘England’ and then ‘Premier League’.

The layout of the Premier League betting section itself is pleasing. Customers should find the experience of betting on the Premier League pleasurable at bet365. The sections are marked, and the page isn’t too overwhelming either.

Two great Premier League features offered by bet365 are the ‘2 Goals Ahead’ promotion, which pays out early if the team you bet on goes two goals ahead, and the ‘Substitute Guarantee, ’ which refunds your stake if your player is subbed before half time.

One downside is that bet365 offers a fairly small list of payment methods compared to other bookmakers, but it includes the most common options, such as debit cards and Apple Pay.

  • Premier League market depth – bet365 offers a wide variety of Premier League betting markets, including lots of niche markets such as player shots, shots on target, player assists and to score or assist, which not all other Premier League betting sites offer.
  • Premier League outright markets – bet365 has a good selection of outright betting markets that are updated throughout the season. They offer more in terms of outright betting than most other Premier League betting sites.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – the in-play betting options at bet365 are plentiful, especially when it comes to Premier League matches.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – bet365 offers mobile betting via a website that is fully optimised for mobile use, plus they have a dedicated mobile betting app that can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices. The bet365 app has a rating of 4.7 on the iOS App Store.
Bet365 premier league betting

Betano

A relatively new betting site, Betano became available to UK players in mid-2024. Sponsors of Euro 2024 and partnering with Aston Villa, Betano has quickly established itself in the Premier League betting scene. The website is visually striking, but this hasn’t prevented it from being easy to navigate, which in turn makes the Premier League page easy to find.

The upcoming Premier League games are clearly displayed, and you can find an overview of the main markets, for all of the games in headings at the top, or click on each game for a full market breakdown.

A positive feature is that Betano offers bet boosts on selected Premier League bets. They also offer ‘Lucky Dip’ bets for Premier League games, which is a fun addition.

  • Premier League market depth – Betano offers a large selection of betting markets for Premier League games, so you should have no problem finding the bet that you’re looking for.
  • Premier League outright markets – Similar to the above, there is a wide variety of outright markets for the Premier League. However, whilst they offer competitive Premier League betting odds in general, they’re not often the bookmaker that offers the best price. For example, at the time of writing, Arsenal to win the league was 5/4 whereas you could grab 6/4 at Coral.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – Betano offer a wide selection of in-play markets for the Premier League, at competitive odds too.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – Betano has great reviews of their mobile app, gaining a 4.8 star rating on iOS App Store.

William Hill

Another big-name bookmaker in the UK is William Hill. One of the oldest and most recognisable betting brands, William Hill offers a more than reasonable Premier League betting package.

The website isn’t as attractive as some others, featuring a design that is a little outdated and clunky. This makes user navigation not the easiest. Fortunately, there’s plenty to choose from in terms of betting markets. There are some good bet boosts too, plus there are a few Premier League specific offers.

  • Premier League market depth – the market depth for Premier League bettors at William Hill is more than acceptable, though there aren’t too many niche markets, so if you’re looking along those lines, you may be better off elsewhere.
  • Premier League outright markets – William Hill offers a decent selection of Premier League outrights that is in line with the industry norm.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – again, William Hill’s in-play Premier League betting options are more than adequate and are again in line with what is the industry norm.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – William Hill offer a website that is fully optimised for mobile use, while they also offer a mobile betting app, which currently holds a rating of 4.7 (out of 5) on the App Store.
Premier League best betting sites william hill

Betfred

Betfred is certainly considered to be one of the best betting sites for the Premier League. In fact, it is one of the most well-known and trusted in the UK. Firstly, the welcome offer is arguably the best of all the sites featured in this article, giving new customers £50 – made up of free bets and acca bets for Premier League use.

The website is easy to see and nicely set up, making the Premier League section easy to locate. A nice touch is that Betfred lists where users can watch each game, which is not something that you’ll find elsewhere. Plus, they also have a feature called #pickyourpunt, allowing bettors to get in touch over social media to request a specific bet.

That’s not all, they also have ‘acca flex’ for football bettors, giving not only a cash bonus of up to 100% if your accumulator wins, but also a stake refund if one selection loses.

  • Premier League market depth – Unfortunately, Betfred doesn’t offer as much in terms of market variety as other sites, but they do offer competitive odds and a few other touches mentioned above that others don’t.
  • Premier League outright markets – Betfred offer a good amount of outright bets for the Premier League, with competitive Premier League betting odds. Sometimes they offer better prices than other bookmakers.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – The in-play market choices are in keeping with the industry norm at Betfred.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – Bettors can enjoy being on-the-go with Betfred’s mobile app, which is nicely designed and makes betting on the Premier League efficient. Currently, the Betfred app has an App Store rating of 4.5 (out of 5).

Kwiff

A modern way of betting, Kwiff was founded in 2015 by the creator of Unibet. With a clear layout and easy to read style, Kwiff’s site is user-friendly. Thus, finding the Premier League section is simple, and can be done by clicking on ‘Football’, ‘Competition’, then ‘England’.

When clicking on a game, all of the markets appear in a comprehensible way. However, unlike other sportsbooks, which direct you to another page, just a small box appears with the markets, which, personally, I’m not a fan of, though others may prefer this twist.

One cool feature is the ‘Supercharge,’ which occurs at random and randomly boosts the odds of your bet.

  • Premier League market depth – Whilst they offer a good selection of markets, on multiple occasions the odds didn’t compare to other sportsbooks, meaning that they do not offer the best prices. For example at the time of writing, you could get 7/5 for Ipswich to beat Everton at Coral whereas it was just 2.20 at Kwiff.
  • Premier League outright markets – The outright markets are not great at Kwiff. They are limited in number, while the odds aren’t competitive.. Kwiff only offers three outright markets: winner, relegation and top-half finish, whereas others usually offer more such as top goalscorer. Plus, the Premier League betting odds are much lower, offering just 1.95 for Arsenal to win the league whilst Unibet offers 2.45 and Coral offers 2.50.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – In-play bettors likely won’t be disappointed with the Premier League betting options at Kwiff, which are more than adequate.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – Kwiff offers a good mobile app, with a rating of 4.5 stars on the Apple Store, for Premier League bettors to have a smooth experience.

Unibet

Founded in 1997, Unibet is one of the biggest betting sites in the UK. Looking at their site, it isn’t too overwhelming and the colour scheme makes the display clear and beginner-friendly. Locating the Premier League betting page is very straight forward; the pages for each game are easy to understand and navigate.

Unibet provides a few nice touches for Premier League bettors. First, they provide a regularly updated blog consisting of football news and Premier League betting tips. Second, they have live streaming available for customers for multiple sports throughout the day.

Third, their new Unibet Radio is available for selected Premier League fixtures. All of these are appealing to customers and are not what every sportsbook offers.

  • Premier League market depth – Unibet offers a large selection of markets for Premier League bettors, covering all bases. Plus, they offer competitive odds and often provide the highest odds.
  • Premier League outright markets – The outright markets are very easy to locate. They are updated regularly whilst offering competitive odds, though they’re not often the highest.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – Unibet match most of their competitors in terms of in-play betting options.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – With 4.1 starts on the Apple store, the Unibet app isn’t as highly rated as other sportsbooks in this article. However, I found the app is easy to use for Premier League punters, similar to the desktop site, and still offering live streaming and radio.
Premier league betting

Ladbrokes

One of the oldest bookies on this list, Ladbrokes is certainly one to be considered for Premier League bettors. Their website is well designed and clearly laid out, enabling smooth navigation, making the Premier League page easy to find.

I particularly like the detailed stats displayed for each individual Premier League game; the way they were displayed, and how they included more niche details, such as how many shots on target or tackles each player is making.

Additionally, Ladbrokes have a decent blog that's regularly updated with Premier League content. They also have a feature named ‘1-2-Free’ for bettors to predict three match results to win up to £100 or free bets. This is free to play.

Also, like some other sportsbooks, Ladrbokes do the ‘2Up’ promotion, paying customers out early when the team that they’ve bet on goes ahead by two goals. A minimum deposit of £5 is great for those users looking to play with small stakes.

  • Premier League market depth – The Ladbrokes betting markets for Premier League matches are vast, with between 200-290 markets available for each. One downside is that their Premier League betting odds aren’t the best in the market when comparing them with other bookmakers. For instance, Liverpool to beat Chelsea was 1.60 at Ladbrokes, but you could get 1.70 elsewhere.
  • Premier League outright markets – Ladbrokes offer a good selection for outright markets but, again, the odds are not the best in the market. For example, betting on Tottenham for top 4 finish is 3.50 at Ladbrokes, however you can take 4.00 at Paddypower.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – The in-play markets at Ladbrokes are quite standard, with a few more obscure offerings, though the odds aren’t typically the best in the business.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – Premier League betting is just the same, if not easier, on the Ladrbokes mobile app; it is fully functioning and clear to understand. The app has a 4.6 rating on the Apple Store.

Betvictor

Another big name in the UK gambling sector is BetVictor. The website has a slightly different feel to it compared to most other betting sites, featuring a more suave design.

The Premier League page is easy to locate. Betvictor has a few unique features. First, there is the ‘Betvictor Predictor’ – a free-to-play game where bettors predict six results, and each correct one means a better reward. Second, there is a ‘lucky dip’ for niche markets, for example, the minute of the first shot in the game, which is a fun addition.

In addition to their sports welcome offer, Betvictor provides specific PL betting offers, which helps to set them apart from the other sportsbooks in this list. Not all betting sites offer specific PL betting offers.

  • Premier League market depth – Betvictor provides a vast range of markets to cater to everyone's preferences. Plus, they offer competitive odds on the higher end of the market, though they don’t always offer the best prices.
  • Premier League outright markets – Betvictor offer a large number of outright markets, one of the highest in this article, with a lot of them being good prices, but they do not always offer the highest.
  • In-Play Premier League betting options – I like the layout of the Betvictor in-play section on Premier League games, while the odds are quite competitive too.
  • Mobile Premier League betting? – Available on iOS and Android, with a 4.7 rating on the App store, the Betvictor app offers users a very nice Premier League betting experience.
