Jason Maguire close to horse racing return

Jockey Jason Maguire is reportedly nearing a return to horse racing after recovering from a severe fall in March.

Jockey Jason Maguire has started riding again after spending the past six months recovering from a near-fatal fall.

At a meeting in Stratford in March, Maguire was kicked in the abdomen by a horse after falling from Scots Gaelic, leaving him with a fractured sternum.

The 33-year-old also suffered bleeding to his liver which resulted in part of it needing to be removed, but according to the Horse and Hound, he has recently made the return to the saddle.

If Maguire continues his progress, he is scheduled to return to racing in October.
