Parish Hall out of Irish 2000 Guineas

Trainer Jim Bolger confirms that favourite for this afternoon's Irish 2000 Guineas Parish Hall has been forced with withdraw because of a leg infection.

Jim Bolger has been forced to retire Parish Hall from this afternoon's Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas due to a leg infection.

The colt, who won the Dewhurst last season, was favourite for this afternoon's race at Curragh.

Trainer Bolger confirmed the news to Press Association Sport, saying: "It's not a very pleasant experience getting so close to the race.

"He's picked up a leg infection but at this stage I've no idea how long it will keep him off for.

"I'd imagine I will have a better idea by Wednesday or Thursday."

Bolger added that Parish Hall will also miss next weekend's Epsom Derby.
