Ruby Walsh to make Australian debut

Jockey Ruby Walsh will make his Australian debut this weekend when featuring in the Australian Grand National at Ballarat.

Ruby Walsh will be on board Bashboy at this weekend's Australian Grand National.

The 36-year-old, who will be making his debut in Australia, has previously won the English version of the race on two occasions, in 2000 and 2005.

However, the Irishman will be under pressure to perform in Victoria, with Bashboy having won the race in 2013 and 2014.

Unlike the event at Aintree, which is run over four miles, Australia's Grand National is competed over a two-mile distance.
