Team GB have claimed Olympic gold with a commanding victory in the men's eights rowing event.
The team, who won bronze in London in 2012, edged in front as early as the 100m mark and were never beaten, crossing the line with a time of 5:29.63.
Defending champions Germany pushed their rivals hard in the final 100m but had to settle for the second spot on the podium this time with a finish of 5:30.96.
Bronze went the way of the Netherlands, who edged out the USA by two seconds with a time of 5:31.59.
GB's men's victory came just minutes after their female counterparts earned a first ever medal, a silver, in the women's eights.
