Bradford Bulls coach James Lowes slams RFL after playoff loss to Wakefield

Bradford Bulls coach James Lowes hits out at the RFL for introducing the Super 8s after his team were beaten 24-16 by Wakefield Wildcats in the Million Pound Game.

Bradford Bulls coach James Lowes criticised the RFL for the Super 8s concept after his team were beaten 24-16 by Wakefield Wildcats in the Million Pound Game.

The former Super League giants were made to rue Danny Addy's late penalty miss, which would have levelled the scores, before Scott Moore's try sealed Wakefield's top-flight status for 2016.

"This shouldn't be how it happens in our game. It's a disgrace," he told Sky Sports.

"It's an embarrassment to our sport this game. There is nothing to gain from it, so why are we doing it? I'm sick of it."

Lowes also criticised referee Richard Silverwood and refused to confirm whether Bradford will remain full-time in 2016.

The former Bulls hooker took over as coach last year, when the club had already been relegated from Super League amid financial trouble.
