Salford Red Devils ease past Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

Salford Red Devils ease to victory in their Super League clash against the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, winning by an eight-point margin.

Salford Red Devils secured a comfortable 24-16 victory over the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in their Super League clash.

The visitors took the lead in the ninth minute through Theo Fages when he collected a pass from Greg Johnson and raided over the line for a score.

The Red Devils extended their advantage as Scott Taylor crashed over the line from close range to hand them a 12-0 lead after 15 minutes.

However, Wakefield got back into the match in the 19th minute through Daniel Smith as he weaved his way through a tackle and crossed the line.

Harrison Hansen put Salford back on top as he gathered the loose ball and went in for the score after Cory Paterson had charged down a kick.

In the second half, Ian Kirke gave the home side a glimmer of hope when he went over from close range, but their joy was short-lived as Hansen notched his second try of the game for the Red Devils.

Danny Kirmond kept Wakefield in the match with a score in the 61st minute to keep them within eight points of the visitors, but Salford managed to hold out for the win.
