Castleford Tigers have started their Super League campaign in winning style with a 24-10 victory at Salford City Reds.
Matty Smith touched down on 16 minutes in snowy conditions to give the hosts a 4-0 lead, but Richard Owen's try, with Kirk Dixon's kick, put Castleford 6-4 ahead at the break.
The visitors' lead was doubled early in the second half thanks to Josh Griffin's try and Dixon's second kick of the match.
The match was put out of Salford's reach 10 minutes from time when Adam Milner touched down. Dixon stepped up again to make the kick.
Matty Ashurst's try, kicked over by Daniel Holdsworth, could have set up a nervous final few minutes for Castleford, but the instead went up the other end and over the try line thanks to Richard Owen. Dixon's fourth kick of the night sealed the win.
