St Helens cruise to win over Huddersfield Giants

St Helens ease to a 41-22 win over Huddersfield Giants to move up to second in the Super League table.

St Helens have moved up to second in the Super League table following a comfortable 41-22 win over Huddersfield Giants this evening.

The home side dominated the opening 15 minutes, with tries from Gary Wheeler, Lance Hohaia and Paul Wellens opening up an 18-0 lead for the Saints.

Larne Patrick gave the visitors some hope as he went over at the other end to keep Huddersfield in the match at half time.

Jon Wilkin and Mose Masoe both tried to put the result beyond doubt early in the second half, but the Giants responded within two minutes of each of their tries.

However, the hosts had already opened up enough of a lead to ensure that they clinched the win, which leaves them just a point behind Leeds Rhinos in the table.
