St Helens captain Jon Wilkin has signed a one-year contract extension with the Super League leaders.
The new terms will keep the 31-year-old at Langtree Park until the end of next season.
Wilkin, who joined the Saints in 2002, was appointed club captain at the start of the current campaign.
"This club has been an important part of my life and it is a natural thing for me to extend my contract," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I am pleased the club wanted me to do the same.
"I have had some of the best memories of my life here and I'm looking forward to continuing that for the next couple of seasons. Being captain is a role I am proud of. My remit is to now highlight and bring through some of the next leaders at the club."
St Helens are currently two points clear at the top of the Super League table thanks to five wins from five games.
