USA have beaten Wales 24-16 in the Rugby League World Cup at the Racecourse Ground.
Wales went ahead in the 16th minute when Christiaan Roets scored the first try of the match, but Lloyd White missed his kick from the near touchline.
The Tomahawks replied immediately when Clint Newton went over. Joseph Paulo missed the chance to give them the lead, though, as he failed from his kick.
The USA then took the lead in the 34th minute through Matthew Peterson, who went over in the corner, but yet again Paulo could not kick over.
In the second half the Americans scored their third try of the game through Paulo after a mistake by Rhys Evans, but again he missed his third conversion attempt of the day.
Tuisegasega Samoa went over to further extend their lead and this time Paulo converted his kick. Two minutes later they scored their fifth try of the match through Clint Newton.
Wales scored two tries through Roets and Anthony Walker in the last five minutes, but it came too late and the Americans held on record the victory.
